Our School of Education pioneers the delivery of high-quality international programmes to the benefit of teachers, trainers, lecturers, educational administrators, coaches and human resource development professionals. We have been offering competencies-based professional programmes for more than ten years. To date, over four thousand teaching/education professionals from Sri Lanka and abroad have been part of our training and development processes.
We offer qualifications in partnership with prestigious international institutions: The University of Nottingham for an MA in Education and Pearson Edexcel for Professional Teaching Diploma and Professional Advanced Teaching Diploma. The university’s School of Education is ranked 25th in the world and 4th in the UK by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), the premier ranking system for international higher education institutions. Pearson Edexcel, based out of the UK is one of the leading international qualifications awarding institutions.
Our latest programme offered by the School of Education is the Pearson BTEC Higher National Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care. This programme provides the necessary knowledge and skills for students to adapt to the constantly changing world of early childhood and care practices. students are provided with the opportunities to grow as professional, self-reflecting individuals enabling them to meet the demands of employers in the early education and care sector. This programme enhances students’ practical teaching experiences through mandatory work placement requirements. Students who complete the Higher National Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care are offered a clear progression pathway for further study in the field of Early Childhood Education and Care.
The School of Education and Training is also central to a number of groundbreaking initiatives in Sri Lanka, undertaken by the Gateway organisation. These include the annual conferences for teachers (International Forum for Teachers), The Sri Lankan Teacher of the Year Award and Summer Camp training at the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus (UNMC) for teachers and senior education administrators of private and public sector schools.
